Peacefully you sleep, away from earthly years.  About you is all that you created and within us you remain.  Your death has brought you nearer and your closeness is all around.  Your soul forever lingers and your temperament abounds.

Your twinkling eyes still sparkle; your sense of humour stays with us.  You were and are the best.  Dear Grampa.  Can you hear?

The day was oh so beautiful.  Barndarrig’s garden bloomed with flowers.  The ducks waddled in the driveway and the goose was somewhere close.  We all were there, dear Grampa.  You would have laughed and joked along.

I miss you now, dear Grampa.  I know you’re watching closely by.  I wonder if you knew how much that you were loved.

At Christmas time I asked you what it was that you would like.  “A blank cheque!” – that’s what you chose, but you never got your prize.

Don’t stray too far, dear Grampa.  We still need you here in us.  You’re a credit now for God.  Go easy Gramps.  Don’t smoke!!
